Name: Maryanne Smith

Metals Finance Limited specific purpose is providing a unique combination of finance and technical skills for the development of small to medium scale metal recovery projects around the globe.

Course: Certificate IV Financal Services (Bookkeeping) and Diploma of Accounting

Maryanne was nominated by her Trainer and Assessor Karen Bower for student of the month because she really has put a fantastic effort into achieving her outcomes and is on track to complete her studies in her set time frame. Well Done Maryanne!

Maryanne has worked in the finance area for many years without formal qualifications. She leads a busy life, as most of our students do, and she finds that her hobbies of photography and clay target shooting a great stress relief from the combination of work and study.

Maryanne thoroughly enjoys her sessions with her trainer Karen and uses this time to gain as much of an understanding as she can of the questions. She uses her trainer to make connections between the course content and her role. Maryanne, with her previous experience and ongoing role at Metals Finance has been able gain Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) with many of her subjects which has cut her course time down considerably. She finds the training “easy, as she is already doing it” in her current role at Metals Finance. Maryanne is enjoying her studies and finds that doing the Diploma concurrently with the Cert IV a great bonus as it saves her from repeating work. She has found the course material relevant and has provided a clearer understanding of the governing legislation that she deals with in her role at Metals Finance. She derives a great sense of personal achievement as she completes her modules and finds the clarity of the content is leading to previously untouched areas in her work role.

Maryanne was previously undertaking her studies with another RTO and finds MCO “a breeze” and her trainer Karen a delight to deal with “If I have any questions, I just shoot her a quick email and always receive a quick response”.

Maryanne is planning to move onto the Advanced Diploma as she continues in her finance career.
